Apresentação

The FitoSín Group, has been working on the identification and characterization of biomolecules, contributing to the expansion of knowledge of the chemical and pharmacological potential of species of the families Fabaceae, Orchidaceae, Poaceae, Arecaceae, Rubiaceae and Melastomataceae present in the Cerrado of Goiás and Paraná, and in the Atlantic Forest. Among the main microorganisms studied are bacteria of the genera Pseudomonas and Rhizobium, in addition to fungi of the genus Fusarium. In the search for new molecules for therapeutic and agronomic purposes, the FitoSín group also carries out research in the synthesis of new nitrogenous compounds derived from abundant natural products such as N-acyl-homoserines lactones, hydantoins, thiohydantoins, quinolines, thiosemicarbazides, thiosemicarbazones and 1,3, 4-thiadiazoles. Synthetic auxiliary tools are also used in the derivatization of natural products aiming at increasing levels of biological activities (structural changes).

Descrição

The FitoSín Group - Phytochemistry of Cerrado and Atlantic Forest Species and Synthesis of Nitrogen Derivatives of Abundant Natural Products - was founded in the 2000s by professors Dra. Cleuza Conceição da Silva and Dra. Silvana Maria de Oliveira, as the main chemistry studies of natural products from species of the Rubiaceae family and organic thiosemicarbazones. Currently, the group is coordinated by professors Dra. Silvana Maria de Oliveira and Dr. Armando Mateus Pomini, who are accredited with the Graduate Program in Chemistry at the State University of Maringá, classified by CAPES with the concept 6, guiding students from scientific initiation, master's and doctorate. The group has been working on the identification and characterization of biomolecules, contributing to an expansion of knowledge about potential and pharmacological of species of Fabaceae, Orchidaceae, Poaceae, Arecaceae, Rubiaceae and Melastomataceae present in the Cerrado of Goiás and Paraná and in the Atlantic Forest. Among the main microorganisms studied are bacteria of the genera Pseudomonas and Rhizobium, in addition to fungi of the Fusarium genus. In the search for new molecules for therapeutic and agronomic purposes, the FitoSín group also conducts research in tests for new nitrogenous compounds, abundant chemicals such as N-acyl-homoserines lactones, hydantoins, thiohydantoins, quinolines, thiosemicarbazides, thiosemicarbazones and 1,3, 4 -thiadiazoles. Synthetic auxiliary tools are also used to derive natural products, which can be increased by levels of biological activities (reduced changes). Through partnerships, or study groups on studies of anticancer activities, anti-Leishmania amazonensis and allelopathic studies with fractions and natural products. Located in Block 26, rooms 5 and 6, FitoSín Laboratory contains an infrastructure with small equipment, such as rotary evaporators, centrifuges, distillers, refrigerators and other consumables. The Department of Chemistry, to which it is linked, and the Complex of Support Centers for Research (Comcap) also contain access to large equipment such as NMR (300 MHz and 500 MHz), LC-MS-MS, GC-MS, FT-IR, digital polarimeter, circular circular and other spectroscopic techniques necessary to conduct research in different areas of organic chemistry
